Fire Hose Reel Servicing

We deliver Fire Hose Reel servicing to meet the legal requirements in the UK. Including testing & maintenance on all types and sizes of semi ridged hose reels.

Having your fire hose reels serviced regularly ensures they in a condition fit for fighting a fire. It also identifies whether the fire hose reel has been misused, vandlise or tampered with. It is the responsibility of the property owner to get the fire hose reels regularly serviced by a competent person (manual and automatic hose reels – BS-EN-671/3:2009). Failure to maintain fire safety equipment adequately can result in criminal proceedings under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 England and Wales or The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006.

Fire hose reel flow and pressure tests

The annual servicing requirements for fire hose reels stipulate a flow and pressure test. Our teams of specialist fire safety engineers are fully trained and equipped to carry out flow and pressure tests on all types of fire hose reels. The results are recorded on the service label attached to the reel. In addition we undertake a full visual inspection of the hose and all the fittings.

Every 5 years, the it is a requirement that the hose is pressure tested to ensure the integrity of the whole unit. We carry the required test equipment which allows us to pressurize each hose to its maximum working pressure. The maximum working pressure is usually 12 bar and typical test pressure of 18 bar.

If any failures are discovered, our service vehicles carry a good stock of spares from all the leading manufacturers. This enables us to work efficiently and maintain one of the highest first time fix rates in the industry. On occasions when we have to return to site a speedy resolution is guaranteed with minimum disruption.

At the end of every service we provide certification per hose reel.
