Dry Riser Installation and Service at Boohoo
Dry Risers Direct Ltd were selected to install a total of 6No. dry riser systems throughout the new logistics / warehouse centre of Boohoo.com in Burnley, Lancashire. These systems will ensure the fire security of the building for years to come. As part of the package we are to service the dry risers on a 6 and 12 monthly basis for the first year.
This is a brand new site, with the engineers reporting excellent working conditions. Two installation teams were put on site to ensure the project timelines were met. In total, five days were required from starting to install to commission and sign off.
It is a legal requirement that all dry riser installations require a wet test every 12 months. Only a flow and pressure test can confirm that water will be delivered as expected when the riser is called upon in a fire emergency.
Dry risers do help saves lives and you could be prosecuted if they have not been regularly tested and inspected in accordance with BS9990:2015.
